| Red Pepper are currently in production with the second series of the hit TV show, Ó Tholg go Tolg (From couch to couch) for TG4.
Starring Bláthnaid Treacy and her camerawoman Laura O’Connell, this new and unique TV format sees two Irish speaking girls ‘couchsurf’ their way across Europe, getting with the weird, the wonderful and the downright crazy. Along the way the girls are free to chat to each other as Gaeilge knowing nobody else can understand them!
Couchsurfing is the latest craze for adventurous travelers who instead of staying in hotels or hostels opt to crash on the couches of strangers. The concept is simple : travelers ask ‘hosts’, who can be found online if they can stay in their home for a couple of days – for free – to participate in their lives.
In Ó Tholg go Tolg the viewers get very personalised tours around some of Europe’s best-known cities, finding out little-known facts in the process as the girls are guided by their local ‘host’.

Also in production is ‘A Criminal in my Life’. A BAI funded two part documentary series for TV3 with renowned journalist Alison O’Rielly. In ‘A Criminal in my Life’ mothers, fathers, spouses and siblings of criminals, will open up and let TV3’s audience into their world so they can see what it is like to love or have loved a criminal or someone mixed up in violent crime.
Other TV work from Red Pepper includes:
‘Back to School’ (TV3/BAI 2011) was a revealing and insightful series that explores how Ireland’s education system has evolved over the past 5 decades. Seen through the eyes of students past and present, teachers, principals and parents, one of Ireland’s leading TV critics hailed ‘it’s depth and diversity of the recollections’ as ‘it’s greatest strength’.
‘How the Irish Have Sex’ (TV3/BCI, 2009), a frank and uncompromising look at how the Irish have explored and dealt with sexuality since the Sexual Revolution in the late 60’s, was critically acclaimed and earned a nomination for Best Documentary Series at the 2009 Irish Film and Television Awards.
We produce commercials as well and recent work includes ‘Ireland’s Happiest Babies’ for Cow & Gate, ‘Summer of Discovery’ and ‘Field of Dreams’, both for Kellogg’s, ‘Best of Real Food’ for SuperValu and ‘2fm/Dress Up for Barnardos' (all in association with RTÉ CEL)
We also co-ordinate the National Lottery’s ‘Monday Million’ draw, aired every Monday evening at 8.28pm on TV3.
If you have a job for us we will put together the best Production Team and Crew to make sure we meet your requirements, standards and expectations.
Whether you come to us with an idea (or a nugget of an idea) or whether you want us to do some of the thinking, every project will be dealt with and cared for in an effective but passionate manner.
